Inspection of Child’s Toothbrushes

Because the oral cavity of children is at the stage of development, it is relatively fragile compared to the oral environment of adults, even in the national standard, the standard of child’s toothbrush is more strict than that of adult toothbrush, so it is necessary for children to use special child’s toothbrush.

Compared to the adult toothbrushes, the child’s toothbrushes shall have a small and flexible toothbrush head to go deep into the mouth and clean each tooth surface. In addition, in order to avoid children swallowing too much toothpaste, the amount of toothpaste is usually the size of a pea, and the face of child’s toothbrushes is also designed to be narrow.

Therefore, baby toothbrush requires smaller and thinner toothbrush head, finer bristles, and narrower bristle surface, which is convenient for babies with smaller mouth and tender gums.

The mandatory national standard, Child’s Toothbrushes (GB30002-2013), approved and issued by AQSIQ and the Standardization Administration of China has been officially implemented since December 1, 2014, which provides a stronger basis and safety guarantee for consumers.

According to the requirements of New Standard, detailed specifications are formed for the child’s toothbrushes from the aspects of hygiene requirements, safety requirements, specifications and sizes, bundle strength, sueding, ornaments and external hanging situation.

Antimony, barium and selenium have been added to the limit of harmful elements on the basis of arsenic, cadmium, chromium, lead and mercury;

Standard requirements:

The length of the toothbrush bristle surface shall be less than or equal to 29 mm;

The width of the bristle surface shall be less than or equal to 11 mm;

The thickness of the toothbrush head shall be less than or equal to 6 mm;

The diameter of the monofilament shall be less than or equal to 0.18 mm;
